Well done everyone! Just a few days after the walk last Saturday  and we've already made around £400! Congratulations. Keep collecting from your sponsors and hand the moey to Simon on Sunday morning.
Thank you to everyone who gave so generously on Sunday for our second Gift Day for the building fund. We raised £1,567.80 in total.
I am still awaiting quotes from two local builders, both of whom are taking their time! I am also awaiting details of a new heating system for the church, which will see us convert from oil to gas. We will install a new boiler, upgrade the radiators in the main hall and install new electric backup heaters.
Just to remind you that the end result of the building project will be a new side entrance for the back hall and a second, disabled, toilet. The overall effect will be to make the back hall more usable for both the community and ourselves and to upgrade our heating system throughout the church.
In just one month from now we will go to the polls to elect a new government. The Bible does not tell us to opt out of what is happening in politics, even if our country is no longer run as a Christian nation. We are told to pray for, submit to and support our political leaders.
This is the first post about the election. You can find out who the candidates are for Croydon North at this link. From there you can find out more about each candidate and what their parties stand for on various issues. I hope to be able to bring more information on how the parties stand on moral issues. Watch the video on our Home Page of David Cameron's message at Easter.
Since 8th March, some folk have added to our Gift Day collection and the final total came to £1,644 - a brilliant effort from everyone! Thank you so much.
Congratulations everyone - your giving raised £1,484 on Sunday 8th March. We now have approx £6,500 in our fund for this year.
This year we are holding four quarterly Prayer Festivals to lead us into more effective prayer. The first one is 27, 28 Feb and 1st March. That's Thursday and Friday evenings from 7.30-9.00pm and Sunday morning 10.30am-12.00.
Our speakers will be Pastor Addo, who leads a growing church in Norbury and Pastor Dave Crabb from Croydon Community Church here in Thornton Heath.

Join us and be inspired to reach out to God in your life.

Prayer by conference calls! We are now into our second week of these novel prayer meetings and they are enabling people who cannot make it into church in an evening to join us for 3o minutes of worship and prayer. We are currently running these on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, 8.30-9.00pm.
The number to call is 0333 966 0060 and then, when asked, key in 040316# to join the meeting.
The calls cost the same as calling a national number (01 or 02 prefix), which for most of us is free. If you use a pay-as-you-go mobile phone, it may cost more.
This year we want to finish the second phase of our building project; to build a new side entrance and hallway to access the back hall and to install a disabled toilet.
At the moment we are still finalising plans and pricing up the work but we need to be starting the building work in the summer months.
Because this will mean removing the heating oil tank at the side of the church, we also need to have a gas meter installed and a new boiler and heating system.
To help achieve this, our first Gift Day will be Sunday 1st March.
Great news for all our Mersham Road Fellowship fans, we have a new website. You can now read up on our latest news, see what previous customers have had to say, view our gallery and contact us with just the click of a button.
